VF Corporation has been in business for 120 years with 50,000 associates focused on 19 brands including The North Face, Timberland, Vans, Dickies, Eastpak, Jansport, Kipling, Kodiak and others. Prior to VF, Parag was at AXA holding various regional CISO roles. Prior to AXA, Parag was at Deutsche Bank as Head - Business Continuity & Data Protection. He’s got international experience working for global brands and based on his experience- always be testing, always be assessing, always be prepared.

Always be testing

Your controls are fantastic. Your technology is best in class. You’ve trained your people exquisitely and they’re prepared to thwart all know threats. And then tomorrow happens.

Parag insists that an ‘always be testing’ mindset be in place to ensure confidence in your controls, processes, technology and talent. You only know what you know and having a good picture of the threat landscape only works until the sun sets. Testing towards that dark horizon is the only thing that can help you sleep tonight.

Always be assessing

If testing towards tomorrow helps you sleep tonight, what about the rest of the week, month and year? We’ve learned from the global pandemic that complete and total disruption absolutely happens and it can happen immediately. Beyond the obvious how are you assessing your known risks to uncover unknown risks?

Always be prepared

Those who are prepared have learned from their mistakes. One way to prove preparation is to not make the same mistake again. But a more impressive and valuable proof of preparation is acting flawlessly in a chaotic and wholly unique situation.
