Revolut has transformed the financial services market, but with success in the digital world comes increasing and ever-changing cyber security threats. Vladimir Krupnov, Revolut’s threat intelligence lead, and Uros Solar, Revolut’s security operations lead, explained the processes the company follows on a daily basis to spot threats before they compromise customers and internal operations.

As a regulated financial entity, security compliance is crucial to maintaining customer trust and credibility in a very competitive marketplace. Solar said that Revolut has a “perpetual mindset of ‘what could go wrong?’”. This means the security team assumes systems have already been compromised and the process is to find evidence to refute that hypothesis.

From office workstations to data on the cloud, Krupnov and Solar gave a detailed presentation on how Revolut’s approach of identifying, enriching, mitigating and learning means the company is permanently proactive, rather than waiting for alerts to come in.
