Vangelis Tsianaxis

Vangelis joined Santander 4 years ago and has worked across FC Lines 1 and 2 in his time at the bank. He has been building specialist teams to enable Financial Crime Analytics, and delivered projects that include and in-house TM model solution. He is currently focusing on transitioning model-based controls to AI and ML. Previously, Vangelis worked across consultancy and data vendor firms, as well as other major banks, building a wide range of experience of how to manage risk using data and technology.

He is a keen and active participant in market wide initiatives on data and risk/compliance, often participating in conferences and setting market wide standards. When not working in risk management, Vangelis loves ‘watching Novak Djokovic beating everyone in tennis against all odds’.
