Vicky Ames

Director, Information Security, Risk & Compliance United Therapeutics Corporation

Vicky Ames is the Director of Information Security, Risk, and Compliance for United Therapeutics Corporation based in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is responsible for ensuring the secure management of UT’s infrastructure, systems and data to enable the company’s mission to develop innovative products to address the unmet medical needs of patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases.

Ames has over 20 years of information security experience throughout leading industries. Prior to United Therapeutics, Ames operated as a direct consultant to the Chief Information Security Officer of the National Institutes of Health, focused on NIH compliance with FISMA. An expert on security solutions, Ames also served as Director of Information Security for Marriott International, where she provided guidance on balancing corporate and customer security with overall business requirements.

Previously, Ames held senior positions with Emergent BioSolutions and MedImmune. In both roles, she led multiple concurrent efforts to develop security strategy roadmaps and implement company-wide security solutions and processes.
