Stephen is a global associate partner and founding member of IBM Security’s Healthcare and Lifesciences industry practice and a domain expert. He is responsible for helping ensure that IBM and its clients can deliver patient safety, security and privacy within their technology systems. Stephen is passionate about understanding and simplifying complex systems and unlocking the ability to pursue innovation and embrace transformation, particularly in change-resistant industries.

A proven technology leader with over 20 years of executive, technical, operational and financial leadership experience, he has worked alongside large cohorts within the Global 2000, and leading nations, to understand - and protect against - cyberthreats. Stephen’s unique set of experiences sees him regularly speak at government and industry events and is engaged globally to develop long term, comprehensive, digital and cyber strategies.

Stephen holds several undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications, including a master’s in information systems security and Cybersecurity. He has 23 years of professional engagement in cybersecurity and technology – with a focus on developing national and critical infrastructure protection programs including both defensive and offensive capabilities. Stephen also holds a broad array of industry certification, including; CCSFP, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CBP, CEH, ITIL and more.

Stephen is originally from Australia and has lived in many countries around the world throughout his career. He currently resides in NYC, New York, where he uses his spare time to developing new ideas and concepts outside the sphere of cybersecurity, including novel applications of emerging technologies.
