Chief Engineer Information Security The Mitre Corporation

Omar Chaudhry is Chief Engineer of Information Security for The MITRE Corporation’s Enterprise IT division. He is an information technologist and cybersecurity practitioner with over 15 years of experience advising federal government agencies on which strategies will best allow them to achieve their operational security, compliance, and business goals. Former clients include Freddie Mac, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Institutes of Health, the Architect of the Capitol, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Prior to working in cybersecurity, Omar enjoyed a successful career in process engineering and technical sales in the pulp and paper industry. Omar is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Project Management Institute (PMI). He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), and Project Management Professional (PMP). Omar received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia, a B.S. in Pulp and Paper Science and Technology from North Carolina State University, and Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng) degrees in Engineering Management from The George Washington University. He is also an adjunct lecturer of Analytics and Informatics at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies. In his spare time, Omar is an avid soccer fan and can be found splitting his time between MLS, EPL, and his son's soccer team.
