David Cox

Head of Financial Crime and Advisory Lloyd's

Exchange Day Two - June 14

1:50 PM INTERACTIVE PANEL DISCUSSION WITH AUDIENCE Q&A - How will changes in the regulatory landscape around economic crime impact team structures and business strategies?

Fraud has increasingly been the subject of significant focus for FCC groups as a result of the UK’s new Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill. This has brought the idea of fraud closer to the centre of anti-financial crime strategy, which then impacts the anti-financial crime policies followed by financial institutions, as well as areas as diverse as data management, technology usage and staff training / recruitment. This session will consider:

  • Will the increased focus on fraud lead to the development of anti-economic crime, or even “FRAML” divisions within financial institutions, or will fraud and AML remain somewhat separate within these organisations?
  • How does a changing landscape impact the skillset needed to succeed within an anti-financial crime (or anti-economic crime) group?
  • Does an increasing focus on fraud change the required relationship you have with regulators
